Labyrinth Spheres

Spirit of Chartres Labyrinth Sphere

Spirit of Chartres Labyrinth Sphere

Spirit of Chartres Labyrinth Sphere

Spirit of Chartres labyrinth Sphere, also called the "Recovery Labyrinth"  or "Nether Springs" Labyrinth, is a unique 3D-printed spherical Labyrinth.

This Labyrinth Sphere symbolises the journey of life. It is based on the Chartres Cathedral Labyrinth and is a finger meditation tool for pilgrimage, relaxation, meditation, and mindfulness.

The tactile spiralling path engages both our intuitive and analytical faculties, aiding us in tapping into our inner resources, slowing down, and reconnecting with our souls.

Individually made from 100% plant-based, bio-sourced, biodegradable bioplastic derived from renewable resources like corn and sugarcane.

The wooden version contains 40% recycled wood fibres, providing a realistic wood colour and finish.

Size 7cm

Each Labyrinth Sphere requires 7 hours for artisan-style 3D printing. Afterwards, Jim hand-finishes and blesses each one.

At their best, they serve as objects of personal devotion and spiritual formation, enriching and embodying a profound sensory experience; at their least, they are similar to a Holy fidget tool !

Cost £14 plus £3 P&P ( UK only)

Tactile

Genuinely Impressed

Genuinely Impressed

“The Chartres Labyrinth Sphere is  tactile and provides a perfect path for fingers, allowing one to navigate it with eyes closed”.  I like it very much, so I took it with me when I left home and use it regularly.   -  Hospital Chaplain.

I was genuinely impressed with the Chartres Labyrinth Sphere! It’s amazing. I asked myself, “Where do I want to go in my life now?” and then meditated. It made meditation so easy and relaxing. - RC minister

    History of the Labyrinth Spheres

I wanted to be able to walk a finger labyrinth by touch, keeping it in my pocket when praying, meditating, or practising mindfulness. I didn’t want to use plastic, but research discovered a natural organic plant polymer that is ecologically much friendlier than plastic, renewable, and biodegradable, made from corn starch, sugar cane, and similar plants.

A few samples were printed, and I used, prayed, and played with the labyrinth sphere 2020-2021.

in December 2024  a new even better labyrinth Sphere design was developed in the Classical and Chartres Stye Pattern.

I rediscovered that praying by touch is a powerful way to experience prayer. I used my hands to navigate the path to the centre and the ends, feeling the texture of the sphere.

The labyrinth prayer spheres are of exceptional quality, with fine details and a tactile, kinaesthetic design that feels comforting in both the hands and the heart.

It takes about 6  hours to 3D print each sphere individually.

The finger labyrinths and Labyrinth Spheres are assembled with care and come with prayers and meditations. Each purchase supports donations of finger labyrinths to various facilities. They are printed ethically in the UK using eco-friendly materials.
